After an eventful career, Fabian Dehi completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the HFBK-Hamburg in 2018.
His work always begins with establishing specific parameters under which a theme or material can unfold. Once this framework is set and the process is initiated, he allows the materials space for their own dynamics. This approach enables the materials, through their interaction, to develop structures, patterns, gradients, and forms that organically emerge from the established conditions.
This artistic process reflects an attitude of letting go of control and accepting uncertainty. It is an act of trust in the materials and their natural properties. Dehi functions less as a creator and more as an initiator of a process whose outcome he does not fully control. He sees this method as a commentary on the nature of creation itself – as something that cannot be entirely mastered but must be left to the flow of events.
His works document the results of these dynamic interactions and reflect a balance between intention and chance, between control and freedom. Through his multimedia and interdisciplinary approach, he creates works that explore themes such as transformation, transience, and the search for identity.
Dehi sees his works as visualizations of the invisible threads that connect our experiences and emotions and depict the inner landscapes of the human condition. By exploring the dynamics between structure and chance, order and chaos, he invites viewers to lose themselves in the landscapes he has created and to discover their own interpretations and reflections.
