Fabian Dehi (b. 1978, Offenbach am Main) works with recurring forms that behave like bodies without depicting them. They have the qualities of vessels: an interior that carries content, and an exterior that makes them visible. His practice begins between the two. In painting, transfer sequence and object, Dehi creates conditions and negotiates with material and process where the forms hold and where they give way. Since 2025, these processes have come together in the body of work Belastbarkeit.

Dehi's works pose their questions in material: what passes from one state to the next, and what is lost along the way? How much permeability does it take for an interior to take in from outside and release outward? And how much can this balance bear before it – and the form with it – gives way?

Fabian Dehi studied Fine Arts at the HFBK Hamburg (B.F.A. 2018). He lives and works in Hamburg.
